Facilities Technician - Waynesboro Hospital - Days

Location: WellSpan Health, Waynesboro, PA
Schedule: Full Time

Full time (80 hours biweekly)

Monday - Friday 7am - 330pm

Weekend and holiday rotation

General Summary

Works with full competency in at least one of the essential job accountability categories. The qualified Craftsman should also possess a basic understanding with some working knowledge for duties represented under the remaining essential job accountability categories.

Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

  • The following are essential job accountabilities; Electrician - Understands and applies a basic understanding for Ohms Law, National Electrical Code, OSHA lock and tag. - Display electrical skills required to work with voltages to 480V. - Capable of identifying and enforcing Arc Flash protection for WellSpan staffing, contractors, and visitors. - Ability to design and install EMT, rigid, flexible metal and rigid non-metallic conduit installations. Design systems and install distribution panels, size breakers, fuses, and size branch circuit wiring. - Ability to use multi meter to check voltage and continuity. Proficiency with additional specialized test equipment expected. - Understands NEMA plug and receptacle configurations. - Ability to read electrical one-line diagrams, electrical schematics, and control diagrams. - Must be able to fully install, troubleshoot and service electrical systems including: switchgear, lighting circuits, receptacle circuits, equipment feeds, and control circuits. - Installs and services lighting fixtures (installs ballasts/bulbs/drivers), lighting controls and switches.
  • The following are general job accountabilities; General - Has a basic knowledge for roofing technology and be able to identify issues, along with the ability to provide oversight for contracted services. - Performs a variety of general maintenance, repair, overhaul, and construction duties as assigned throughout all assigned locations. - Displays a basic knowledge for the application of NFPA codes and regulations. - Understands and exhibits applicable OSHA safety requirements.
  • Duties As Need: Mechanic, HVAC, Plumbing, & Carpentry.

  • Displays a working knowledge of building, fire, and safety codes.
  • Must be able to perform overtime, work weekends and other shifts when needed.
  • Must be able to perform on-call duties when assigned.
  • Must display good communication skills, problem solving abilities and be a critical thinker.
  • May be called upon to operate in a "lead" role for the foreman/supervisor when requested.
  • This position will provide guidance and training for the Building Craftsman I position on a regular basis.

Qualifications

Minimum Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED Required
  • Certificate Program Apprentice or Journeyman Program. Preferred

Work Experience:

  • 4 years Relevant experience. Required

Driver's License Statement:

Must possess a valid driver's license in the current state of residence. Driving record must meet requirements established by WellSpan Risk Management.
