Cardiac Catheterization Lab Expansion in York
WellSpan is elevating advanced care in South Central Pennsylvania with a significant enhancement to WellSpan York Hospital that will make it one of the top 10 largest hospitals in Pennsylvania.
To meet the growing need for life-saving cardiovascular care for patients, WellSpan is building a new one-story facility on our York Hospital campus to house an additional catheterization lab and recovery bays. The facility also will include “shell” space to accommodate future expansion. We have one of the only 4D cardiac CT scanners in the world located in our catheterization hybrid lab.
WellSpan York Hospital is the only hospital in South Central Pennsylvania that has been designated a Training Expertise Center (TEC site) for electrophysiology. Physicians and fellows from all over the country observe and learn from the complex EP procedures we are performing.
Living up to WellSpan’s commitment to sustainability, the building will feature a 4,500-square-foot green roof to provide a natural area of respite for staff and visitors, reduce stormwater runoff and improve stormwater quality.
“The investment we’re making in cardiovascular care is critical to ensuring that WellSpan Health meets our region’s growing need for life-saving heart disease diagnosis and treatment. When every minute counts, we want patients to know they can count on WellSpan for the most advanced interventional cardiac care.”
