Senior Director-Partnership Strategy

Location: WellSpan Health, York, PA
Schedule: Full Time

General Summary

Works closely with the Vice President of Business Development and the senior leadership team. The Senior Director-Partnership Strategy is responsible for identifying and building commercial partnerships aligned to prioritized strategic initiatives and their tactical execution, ensuring alignment with the organization's overall financial, operational, and clinical goals. The incumbent brings solid partnership strategy acumen, including standard methodologies to inform, develop and support a diverse pipeline. This individual will collaborate closely with the senior team, Legal, Finance, Medical Group, Government Relations, Marketing, and other enterprise-level teams to assure business needs are effectively communicated, building consensus among vested parties that results in alignment and timely execution of the partnership deliverables.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Execute a robust strategy for commercial partnerships to drive revenue growth and achieve internal revenue growth targets.
  • Supports the VP of Business Development in refining the vision of strategic partnerships, including the creation a multiyear pipeline, and supporting evaluation processes.
  • Orchestrate and nurtures the development of strategic relationships between WellSpan Health and its external partners to manage ongoing collaborations to ensure performance of key business objectives and to identify opportunities for future growth.
  • Work with the VP of Business Development and other senior leaders to research and identify targeted service areas for growth, evaluate new business opportunities, define resource needs, and develop pro forma, budgets, and business plans.
  • Plan and coordinate staffing, operations, process, fiscal, and material resources necessary to develop and maintain partnership initiatives.
  • Analyze market trends, competitive landscape, regulatory changes, and customer insights specific to healthcare industry to identify growth opportunities and potential disruptions and assess and adjust partnership strategies accordingly.
  • Develop and socialize partnership prospectus,' recommendations, and scenarios to facilitate senior leadership decisions.
  • Under the direction of the VP of Business development, expand WellSpan's influence and reachability within the healthcare sector, brining an extensive network in relevant industries and the ability to make connections and build relationships with potential partners.
  • Manage multiple partnerships and projects concurrently, ensuring successful execution and delivery.
  • Strong financial acumen, with demonstrated experience in understanding financial metrics and the ability to evaluate the fiscal impact of partnerships and make data-driven decisions, including monitoring and reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to revenue generation, partnership success, and overall achievement of business objectives.
  • Lead cross-functional teams and demonstrate influence without authority to effectively manage stakeholders within the company and with partners.

  • Ability to clearly articulate the company's value proposition and negotiate terms with partners.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the healthcare market, industry trends, and WellSpan operating context to inform new partnership opportunities.
  • Ability to effectively negotiate mutually beneficial agreements with partners.

Travel Requirements:

  • Estimated Amount: 30% - As required.

Qualifications

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelors Degree Business or Healthcare degree Required
  • Masters Degree MHA, MBA, MPH, MHS Preferred

Work Experience:

  • 5 years Leading strategic partnership verticals Required and
  • 5 years Healthcare related experience. Required and
  • 5 years Evaluating and/or leading M&A, joint ventures, and other alternative partnership deals and structures. Required

Driver's License Statement:

Must possess a valid driver's license in the current state of residence. Driving record must meet requirements established by WellSpan Risk Management.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
