Orthopedic Surgeon- Total Joint

Location: WellSpan Medical Group, Lebanon, PA
Schedule: Full Time

General Summary

Provides musculoskeletal specialty care and medical to patients.

WellSpan Medical Group (WMG) is seeking a Total Joint Arthroplasty Surgeon to join our established practice in Lebanon, PA. Individual must be a graduate of an accredited school of medicine with Doctor of Medicine degree plus completion of a medical residency training program in Orthopedic Surgery. He or she must also be Board Certified or Board Eligible.

Position Highlights:

  • Employed position with WMG
  • Seeking candidate with niche interest in joint replacement (mix of general ortho and total joints)
  • 4 orthopedic surgeons, 1 podiatrists, 1 non-operative sports medicine physician and 5 APPs
  • General orthopedic call of 1:4 (1 day/week and 1 weekend/month)
  • 1 - 2 OR days/week
  • Large referral base of WMG family and internal medicine physicians
  • Surgeries performed at Good Samaritan Hospital (GSH) and a nearby surgery center
  • GSH is a 170-bed facility with a busy ED
  • Modern office with collegial/engaged staff; led by seasoned Practice Manager
  • Epic utilized in all inpatient and outpatient settings

Qualifications

Minimum Education:

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) Required or
  • Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) Required

Licenses:

  • Licensed Medical Physician and Surgeon Upon Hire Required or
  • Licensed Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine Upon Hire Required

Courses and Training:

  • Certification from the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery or the American Osteopathic Board of Orthopedic Surgery. Upon Hire Required and
  • Completion of an appropriate residency program. Upon Hire Required and
  • Must qualify and be a member of the Medical Staff of one or more WellSpan hospitals. Upon Hire Required

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Clinical skills and knowledge of emergency medicine techniques and occupational medicine.
  • Teaching skills.
