Network Engineer Senior

Location: WellSpan Health, York, PA
Schedule: Full Time

General Summary

Provides top level technical expertise and leadership in planning, design, support and troubleshooting of the System's local and wide area network environments. Assists Director and Manager with setting goals and milestones for future network technology integration, refresh and upgrades.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performs high level functions relating to network design and planning.
  • Collaborates with IS technical teams (WS, Telco, Operations) to provide network services support to data center, remote sites and Disaster Recovery operations.
  • Uses technical knowledge and expertise to troubleshoot, debug and resolve network problems.
  • Reviews and analyzes proposed systems for design inefficiencies and deviations from current and future networking strategies.
  • Acts as liaison for inter- and intra corporate networking and Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) initiatives.
  • Provides technical leadership on complex projects.
  • Meets with customers to determine specifications of particular hardware or software needs.
  • Interacts with customers through various phases of design, implementation, and maintenance.
  • Recommends technical training and seminars to enrich staff knowledge and certification.
  • Coordinates vendor visits and in-service sessions to review new products and schedule evaluations.

Qualifications

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelors Degree Required

Work Experience:

  • 8 years Experience in LAN/WAN multi-protocol network environment. Required

Licenses:

  • Cisco Certified Network Associate Upon Hire Required or
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional Upon Hire Required

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Possess top level technical skills & knowledge in LAN/WAN multi-protocol network environment, Network Security, VPN services, Network analyzers and testing tools.
