Manager-Epic Training Project One Clin Info Sys Day

Location: WellSpan Health, York, PA
Schedule: Full Time

Hours: M-F Day

Full Time: 40 hours/week

General Summary

Supervises the planning and development of Project One training, utilizing best practices and appropriate staffing and management of a project training team. Responsible for communicating training policies and procedures and for overall coordination of training activities and trainers. Using proven methodologies, communication and problem-solving skills, guides and assists the project training teams on issues related to the design, development and deployment of mission-critical information systems education.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assesses organizational, departmental and program needs to ensure that curriculum delivery and staffing for applications training meets project and organizational requirements and system goals.
  • Assesses and manages scope and risks related to development and execution of training programs.
  • Manages and provides oversight for direction of principal trainers, and training team tasks.
  • Coordinates training curriculum changes as necessary to support enhancements and upgrades to existing applications. Assists in preparing training materials and requirements for application upgrades/enhancements.
  • Collaborates with principal trainers, project managers, project leadership, applications coordinators/leads, vendors and subject matter experts in design, scheduling and execution of application training.
  • Works with organization managers to ensure appropriate backfilling of roles during staff training, as well as planning for staffing budgets.
  • Provides coordination and planning for overall training schedules, including ensuring appropriate class times, staffing and training rooms/equipment. Works with project director to identify super users.
  • Develops training environment strategy and oversees necessary processes are established for training environment preparation, as well as establishment of practice/playground environments.
  • Manages and provides direction for training team in support of project objectives and teamwork. Manages schedules and priorities to ensure work is properly resourced.
  • Responsible for communication with department management and steering committees to generate excitement about classes and inform about training schedule and requirements for each role, as well as training program progress, issues/risks and need for any changes.
  • Ensures processes are established for properly certifying users for access to the production environments, including coordination of training enrollment, maintaining training records and documentation of attendance.
  • Responsible for ensuring proper levels of training are established and communicated for all users.
  • Continuously updates personal training, performance improvement and managerial skills and knowledge.
  • Ensures all work and training materials meet appropriate department/service line/project standards. Establishes standard templates for lesson plans, manuals, tip sheets, and other materials used by trainees.

Qualifications

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelors Degree Required

Work Experience:

  • 5 years Organizational/Adult Learning with Healthcare focus or related administrative expertise. Required
  • Experience with Epic ARCR Applications
  • Previous supervisory/management experience a plus

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • High level functional/general management competencies.
  • Decision making.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal relationship skills.
  • Strong customer-service orientation.
  • Budget management (capital, operating and resource allocation).
  • Strong background in adult learning theory, pedagogy, and Instructional Systems design (ISD).
  • Proficient in desktop applications.
  • Experience using multi-media tools for development and delivery of e-learning preferred.
  • Project management skills preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Able to effectively communicate with end-users, staff and senior management.
