Performs general, non-technical duties. Assists the technologist and physician in positioning, lifting, transferring and care of patients. Schedules patient exams and performs other clerical duties related to and in support of departmental operations. Assists with the care and maintenance of department equipment. Maintains appropriate levels of necessary supplies.
Duties and Responsibilities
Schedules cases to coordinate with other patient examinations.
Positions and transfers patients safely and comfortably and explains basic procedure.
Answers telephones, routes callers, takes messages and provides routine information to callers.
Secures and returns supplies such as film, linens, medicine, patient folders.
Monitors and orders supplies as required.
Assists with care and maintenance of department equipment and supplies.
Collects soiled laundry/linens and delivers to pick up point. Orders, stocks and distributes clean laundry/linens.
If enrolled as a student in the Radiological Technology School, performs patient care and other duties applicable to the specialty areas (e.g., CT, MRI and/or Mammography).
