Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer

WellSpan Health is looking for a visionary leader to join our executive team as the Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer (CAO). The CAO will have a unique opportunity to architect the continued transformation of an innovative, community-focused integrated health system. The CAO will serve as a critical member of WellSpan's executive leadership team in driving the acceleration of WellSpan's enterprise strategy to deliver personalized and simplified healthcare. This leader will have accountability for interdisciplinary functions that are paramount to WellSpan's transformation efforts including technology, legal, and human resources. The CAO will serve as a transversal partner to and among the executive leadership team to optimize internal and external collaboration by positioning these key functions to enable sustainable growth in alignment with the organization's strategic goals.

Highlights:

  • Strategic Leadership: Provide strategic leadership to functions including technology, legal, and human resources.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the CEO, Board, and other senior executives to develop and execute the System's strategic plan. Creates and executes continued integration of corporate and operational functions across the system to create seamless internal and external experiences and efficiency.
  • Financial Management: In partnership with the Senior Leadership Team, creates and aligns plans for capital deployment which improves the efficiency and growth of the integrated system.
  • Operational Efficiency: Ensure efficient and effective management of administrative departments to meet budgeted operating and financial targets.
  • Strategic Planning: Participate in strategic planning for healthcare delivery and business planning. Oversees the prioritization of corporate strategies including corporate benchmarking and resource allocation across the organization
  • Culture and Engagement: Through the human resources and organizational development functions, creates strategies which improve culture, engagement, belonging, and total rewards.
  • Risk Management: Plans and implements an effective enterprise risk management program in collaboration with the legal function, leaders and Board of Directors.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Master's degree in administration or a related field; MBA, MHA, or MPA preferred; Legal Degree desirable.
  • Experience: 5-7 years of senior executive or leadership experience in a large and complex organization; healthcare experience preferred.
  • Skills and Abilities: Excellent human relations and communication skills; experience in policy formulation, strategic planning, organizational design management, project/program evaluation, and project administration; strong financial acumen; demonstrated commitment to customer service and conflict resolution; understanding of change management and sensitivity to an industry and organization undergoing dynamic transformation.
