General Summary
Provides delivery, set-up, education, function, and maintenance of home medical equipment and supplies.
Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Functions:
Educates patient, family, or caregiver on Physicians orders, procedures, maintenance and proper use of equipment based on patient's age, size, weight, disease process and demonstrated needs.
Ensures completeness of order when loading equipment and supplies prior to leaving facility.
Delivery orders are completed in a timely manner in accordance with patients' needs.
Sets up equipment in accordance with manufacturer and GSH Home Med Care guidelines.
Completes assigned paperwork pertinent to delivery and vehicle maintenance.
Follows safety guidelines when transporting hazardous materials.
Utilizes appropriate safety precautions based on proper selection of equipment, procedures, and supplies according to patient's age, size, weight, disease process, and demonstrated need as appropriate.
Completes required vehicle checks and required forms/reports prior to using vehicle.
Always reviews with patient his/her financial responsibility at time of delivery.
Always submits all delivery paperwork next working day.

Maintains established policies and procedure, objectives, quality assessment, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
Maintains confidentiality of patient and organizational information.
Demonstrates a commitment to patient, visitor and staff by: complying with all applicable safety regulations; learning the impact of medical errors and methodology that will lead to reduction of errors; reporting actual and potential errors, as well as hazardous conditions; identifying opportunities to standardize processes and "error proof" systems that will lead to increased safety; and participating in safety education programs and root cause analysis as required.
Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings, and workshops.
Functions as a member of the interdisciplinary team. Encourages and maintains open communications.
Submits complete, accurate, neat and timely records according to established policy.
Attends staff development programs and conferences, as scheduled.
Functions in a cost-effective manner regarding scheduling, mileage, supplies, equipment, and communication.
Maintains established schedule and reports any necessary changes immediately.
Represents the organization in a professional manner at all times.
Provides outstanding service to all customers; fosters teamwork; and practices fiscal responsibility through improvement and innovations.
Qualifications
Minimum Education:
High School Diploma or GED Required
Work Experience:
1 year Relevant experience. Required
HME background or product knowledge and delivery experience. Preferred
Driver's License Statement:
Must possess a valid driver's license in the current state of residence. Driving record must meet requirements established by WellSpan Risk Management.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong computer skills.
Knowledge of standard office equipment (copier, printer, fax).
