Certified Recovery Specialist Lead - Days

Location: WellSpan Philhaven, Mercersburg, PA

General Summary

Contributes in a recovery support capacity to facilitate recovery and enhance wellness. Serves as a role model for recovery for both staff and peers and will partner with peers in developing recovery tools and building support networks. Has two primary functions: direct peer support (with 65% productivity for billable services) and supervisory activities for monitoring certified recovery specialist's work and outcomes. (3-5 FT equivalents).

Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

  • Trains and orients new staff to duties and responsibilities of a Certified Recovery Support position. Monitors CRS productivity and documentation in order to meet program requirements and maintains schedules.
  • Provides marketing and trainings within the community as needed.
  • Provides additional support to CRS staff in the community when needed and meets weekly for face to face supervision with all assigned staff. Documentation of these visits must be given to the program Director.
  • Participates in performance reviews and performance issues.
  • Provides information on accessing community resources and connects individuals and families with local recovery support groups and communities of recovery, providing referrals when necessary.
  • Nurtures and develops new support programs in the community while maintaining an excellent working relationship with all providers in each county served.
  • Coordinates ancillary services (housing, transportation, employment, health care) to support the recovery process and assist with warm hand-offs, minimizing potential for relapse and preventing overdoses.
  • Provides Buprenorphine Care Coordination in MAT provider offices to enhance communication between individuals and their MAT providers.
  • Assists in the development of individual recovery plans, with specific interventions directed at achieving individualized goals.
  • Facilitates opportunities for change and the instillation of hope, helps to build self-esteem, and increases good decision-making and self-advocacy skills while identifying and working to minimize issues of stigma.
  • Assists individuals to improve the quality of their lives and their ability to become active and productive family members and members of their community through prevention, early intervention and monitoring of successes/challenges in the recovery process.

  • Recognizes, respects and accommodates differences as they relate to culture, ethnicity, race, gender and sexual orientation.
  • Completes all necessary paperwork during the intake, updates paperwork as needed and completes documentation of each encounter while completing monthly logs of services provided.
  • Acquires knowledge of resources in assigned county or counties.

Travel Requirements:

  • Estimated Amount: - Minimum travel between local county behavioral health offices and within the community required.

Qualifications

Minimum Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED Required
  • Associates Degree In a health related field. Preferred

Work Experience:

  • 1 year Supervisory experience. Required and
  • 1 year Experience in the behavioral health/medical field. Required and
  • 1 year Experience in navigating the behavioral health system (i.e. crisis services, vocational rehabilitation, recreational activities, and human services, etc.). Required and

Licenses:

  • Certified Recovery Specialist Upon Hire Required and
  • Certified Recovery Specialist Supervisor within 90 days Required

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Excellent human relations and oral/written communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills including email, Word, and internet.
  • Knowledge of and ability in the care and support of individuals in a specific age group.
