Annual and Special Gifts Officer - Development - Day

Location: WellSpan Health, Gettysburg, PA
Schedule: Full Time

General Summary

Plans, coordinates, executes and reports on annual or targeted giving campaigns, employee and physician fund raising, and selected annual, major and planned giving donors. Develops/implements effective solicitation, cultivation and stewardship strategies and programs. Works as one integrated philanthropy team to implement best practice philanthropic strategies, build a culture of philanthropy at WellSpan and build standard, efficient processes where appropriate.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Organizes annual/targeted giving campaigns and oversees the implementation of campaigns to meet objectives
  • Works in coordination with the Executive Director to identify, cultivate, solicit and steward donors and potential donors
  • Builds relationships and works effectively with physicians, employees, patients, colleagues and the public at large
  • Builds, maintains and solicits a personal portfolio of special gift and major gift donors, developing potential major and planned giving prospects
  • Analyzes results of giving campaigns and effects action to meet campaign goals and timelines on a continual basis
  • Analyses large amounts of donor data to effectively target and prioritize donors with the greatest affinity and capacity for giving
  • Ability to articulate the mission of WellSpan generally and the campaign objectives specifically in a manner that encourages donors and prospective donors to participate in the campaign

Qualifications

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelors Degree Required

Work Experience:

  • 5 years Related experience. Required and
  • Annual giving or major gifts fundraising experience. Required

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proven track record of organizing and executing campaigns.
  • Willingness and ability to work collaboratively with staff and volunteers.
  • Ability to think strategically.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and presentation skills.
  • Ability to perform basic database functions, including donor information entry and running basic queries and reports.
  • Computer applications skills (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, Blackbaud's Raiser's Edge).
  • Strong writing skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks effectively.

Established in 1800, Adams County includes the borough of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. Home to more than 100,000 residents, the town is a mecca for Civil War history buffs and visitors who come to tour the Gettysburg National Battlefield and Gettysburg National Military Park and see the annual Civil War reenactment.
