New Family Medicine Residency at WellSpan in Pennsylvania Seeks Faculty Member with OB!

General Summary

The right candidate will be a board-certified family physician with obstetrics and teaching experience, to provide clinical, educational and administrative services as core faculty at our new Family Medicine residency at WellSpan Health in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania.

This is a unique opportunity for a family physician with knowledge and passion to help build the Obstetrics model for the residency program from the ground-up with the support of an integrated health system that boasts two other FM residencies. Once residents are in place, core faculty would divide their time supervising residents in patient care, advising and mentoring residents, working administratively for the ongoing growth of the residency program and seeing their own patient panel in the office. Ongoing opportunities for faculty development through mentoring and conferences available.

Position Highlights

  • Point person for the design and build of the OB model within the residency program
  • Be an integral part of building an unopposed, 6-6-6- program with expected first class in 2025.
  • Develop high-quality educational curriculum and experiential rotations per ACGME requirements.
  • ACGME initial accreditation received, Program Director and APD in place.
  • Assist in the interview, selection, evaluation and mentoring of residents.
  • Opportunity for community involvement
  • Must be board certified ABFM or AOBFM.
  • OB is required for this role.

Qualifications

Minimum Education:

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) Required or
  • Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) Required

Licenses:

  • Licensed Medical Physician and Surgeon Upon Hire Required or
  • Licensed Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine Upon Hire Required

Courses and Training:

  • Diplomate of the American Board of Family Practice, or the American Osteopathic Board of Family Practice, or Board eligible. Upon Hire Required or
  • Completion of a Family Practice residency. Upon Hire Required and
  • Must qualify and be a member of the Medical Staff of York Hospital. Upon Hire Required
