Pulmonary Services Lead - Respiratory Therapy - Day

Location: Ephrata Community Hospital, Ephrata, PA

Hours: 3 x 12 hour shifts

General Summary

Oversees the provision of therapeutic, diagnostic and rehabilitative services in assigned clinical core area and shift. Ensures quality patient care, cost effectiveness and customer service.

Essential Functions:

  • Provides clinical services to assigned patient care area.
  • Serves as primary care provider in emergency/trauma areas.
  • Introduces and demonstrates new techniques, procedures, protocols, equipment and research findings to the staff.
  • Monitors clinical performance indicators. Acts or recommends action to improve performance in deficient areas.
  • Completes a minimum of one (1) A3 Lean Process Improvement Project annually.

Common Expectations:

  • Assists in developing department goals and objectives.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to patient, visitor and staff by: complying with all applicable safety regulations; learning the impact of medical errors and methodology that will lead to reduction of errors; reporting actual and potential errors, as well as hazardous conditions; identifying opportunities to standardize processes and "error proof" systems that will lead to increased safety; and participating in safety education programs and root cause analyses as required.
  • Maintains established policies and procedures, objectives, quality assessment, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
  • Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise.
  • Maintains appropriate records, reports, and files as required.
  • Provides outstanding service to all customers; fosters teamwork; and practices fiscal responsibility through improvement and innovation.

Qualifications

Minimum Education:

  • Associates Degree Required

Work Experience:

  • 3 years Relevant experience. Required
  • Supervisory experience. Preferred

Licenses:

  • Licensed Respiratory Therapist Upon Hire Required and
  • Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required
