Administrative Assistant

Location: The Good Samaritan Hospital, Lebanon, PA
Schedule: Full Time

Hours

Full-Time: 80 Hours/Biweekly

8:00am - 4:30pm

General Summary

Performs diversified and confidential administrative duties. Requires an intermediate degree of technical and communications/interpersonal skills, knowledge, and ability. May administer/coordinate programs, projects, and/or processes as assigned.

Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

  • Composes from dictation and documents memorandums, policies, committee minutes, manuals, letters, forms, procedures, and other general typing as directed, initiating other correspondence as appropriate.
  • Answers telephones, routes callers, takes messages and provides routine information to callers.
  • Schedules appointments; maintains and updates daily calendar(s).
  • Schedules, coordinates and/or arranges meetings, appointments and/or facilities. Attends meetings and records minutes, as required.
  • Collects information needed by leader or team for conferences and/or reports.
  • Sets up and maintains files and records which may contain confidential information.
  • Takes and transcribes dictation of a highly confidential nature.
  • Compiles data for and prepares regularly scheduled or special reports, analyzes and statements.
  • Enters and/or retrieves data from established computer files or cloud-based systems using knowledge of various computer software applications.
  • Opens and routes incoming mail; distributes correspondence and other material to staff.
  • Administers/coordinates programs, projects, and/or processes as assigned.

  • The following are nonessential job accountabilities for ADA purposes:
  • Makes travel and lodging arrangements directly or through travel agencies.
  • Prepares PO payment requests as directed.
  • Orders office supplies as necessary.
  • Greets and directs visitors.

Qualifications

Minimum Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED Required
  • Associates Degree Business Administration Preferred

Work Experience:

  • 2 years Required

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Basic Computer Skills
  • Transcription Skills
  • Excellent Interpersonal/Communication Skills
